Case study

Flores de Guatemala WooCommerce Retail Store

Flores de Guatemala - Store

Flores de Guatemala is a well-established flower distributor in El Salvador whose products are also recognized by florists and consumers throughout the country. Its ecommerce website serves a specific retail purpose: giving individual customers a direct way to browse floral designs, select an arrangement, and complete an order online.

I designed and implemented the storefront with WordPress and WooCommerce, organized its commercial content, configured the purchasing experience, and produced original photography for part of the brand’s digital presentation. The result is not a demonstration store or a purely visual marketing site. It is a working retail channel that has supported sustained ordering activity since launch.

Turning a large floral catalog into a usable storefront

The store currently presents more than 200 published products. The catalog covers arrangements for different occasions, flower combinations, styles, formats, and price ranges. This volume required a structure that would allow customers to move from discovery to product detail and checkout without making the experience feel like an administrative product list.

WooCommerce provides the commercial foundation for the catalog, product pages, prices, related products, cart, checkout, and order management. Categories and product relationships help customers continue exploring when the first arrangement they view is not the right fit.

Product pages balance large floral imagery with the information required to make a purchasing decision. Customers can inspect an arrangement, read its description, review the price, choose a quantity, add it to the cart, and discover alternative designs without leaving the shopping flow.

Supporting the way local customers pay

The checkout experience supports several payment preferences rather than requiring every customer to follow one method. Customers can pay by credit card, use PayPal, or choose cash on delivery where applicable.

Providing these alternatives reduces friction for a local retail audience with different levels of comfort using online payments. The implementation connects the public shopping experience with WooCommerce order management so the business can receive and process orders through a consistent administrative workflow.

The public case study intentionally describes the payment experience without exposing the local processing provider or private operational configuration.

Original photography as part of the digital product

My involvement went beyond assembling pages. I also completed photography sessions for Flores de Guatemala, creating original images of flowers and arrangements for use across its digital presence.

This combination of web implementation and visual production helped the storefront communicate the quality, color, and composition of a physical product that customers cannot inspect in person before ordering. For floral ecommerce, photography is not decorative support: it is a central part of the product experience.

Working across both areas allowed image selection, composition, presentation, and page layout to support the same objective. The store could rely on authentic brand material rather than generic stock photography disconnected from the products and business.

A retail channel that continued operating

The strongest result is sustained use. The website has accumulated meaningful retail ordering activity and continues to maintain a large active catalog. This demonstrates a different kind of value from a heavily customized software platform: dependable ecommerce implementation that remains useful to the business and its customers over time.

Private WooCommerce reporting provides additional evidence of the store’s commercial activity, but revenue and order-status totals are deliberately excluded from the public portfolio.

What this project demonstrates

Flores de Guatemala demonstrates my ability to deliver a practical WordPress ecommerce experience where design, product presentation, payment configuration, responsive behavior, and content production must work together.

Not every successful WordPress project requires a custom theme or a complex plugin architecture. In this case, success meant selecting and configuring a dependable ecommerce foundation, presenting a substantial retail catalog clearly, supporting local purchasing preferences, and giving the business an online channel capable of serving real customers over an extended period.
